Communication Award of Excellence Announced for Regional Publication

Lafayette, LA – One Acadiana (1A) received an award of Communication Excellence from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), a national organization whose mission is to support and develop chamber professionals to lead business and their communities.

ACCE selected 1A’s 2016 Annual Report alongside 48 additional award-winning entries that represent the work of 41 organizations in 23 U.S. states and the Cayman Islands. The report, which outlines Acadiana’s economic, policy, and business community progress, was developed by the organization’s staff in coordination with local design firm Prejean Creative.

1A President and CEO Jason El Koubi said the economic development organization is proud to showcase the significant momentum of the nine-parish region. “This annual report shows that our region is stronger as one. In the past year, we’ve come together to advocate for this area’s legislative priorities and send a clearer message at the Capitol; we’ve aligned to develop shovel-ready sites for effective business recruitment; we’ve collaborated to craft a suite of events that support our local business owners; and most importantly we are just getting started.”

Highlights of the report include how the region’s parish-level economic developers have joined forces to reemploy displaced oil and gas workers and market the region as the ideal place for business and talent. The full annual report can be accessed here.

1A Chairman of the Board Frank Neuner shared, “This publication should be a point of pride for each member, investor, and partner of 1A. Every page tells the story of an energetic and adaptive region that has emerged with hard-earned lessons and is accomplishing tangible, strategic growth.”
