1. Give us a brief history of your organization.

The idea to start a private plastic surgery practice, McGee Plastic Surgery, began in mid-summer 2023. Over the following six months, Dr. McGee and I worked together to build the necessary regulatory, and contractual and labor framework to start a healthcare operation. We saw our first patient on December 18, 2023 and hired a medical assistant the following month. During the course of our short history, we acquired various technologies to enable us to offer new services to our patients. We also opened multiple advertising campaigns to help us educate the public about Dr. McGee and what she can offer.

2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?

We are led by a double board-certified female plastic surgeon with over a decade of surgical experience. We are boutique, which means that every time a patient is seen, they are seen by Dr. McGee. It means that Dr. McGee and our staff are able to devote as much time to each patient as that patient needs. As a solo practice, we remain especially nimble on pricing, scheduling and even business/clinical development..

3. What are you most proud of?

We are most proud of our provider, Dr. Catherine McGee. She brings a unique blend of skills, experience and patient-centered philosophy to the clinic. As a mother of two, she has the ability to connect with the core plastics demographic in a unique way. Dr. McGee also actively prioritizes natural results and safety, while achieving patient goals.

4. Where do you see your organization in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?

Over the next decade, McGee Plastic Surgery envisions a more narrowly-focused and somewhat larger practice, sought after by a variety of both reconstructive and cosmetic patients, across the Gulf Coast.

5. 1A is making an impact as we take an active role in improving the community we live in. Our members are making an impact, too! – What does impact mean to you? How is your company making an impact?

To us, “impact” means: 1) Providing breast cancer patients innovative options for reconstruction; 2) Achieving consistent, rewarding and cost-effective results for all patients, and 3) Providing accessible and transparent public education on plastics-related issues.
