Lafayette native André Breaux has returned home to direct One Acadiana’s policy initiatives.

Breaux spent the past two years with the office of Mayor Kevin Johnson in Sacramento, Calif., as a policy adviser and special projects coordinator. He supported Johnson on major initiatives, including his national leadership as president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and his local leadership on downtown development and community-police relations.

One Acadiana has hired Lafayette native André Breaux to be the economic development agency’s director of policy initiatives.

Breaux will lead the agency’s team in developing and advancing policies on transportation infrastructure, pre-K education and workforce development, One Acadiana President Jason El Koubi said Tuesday.
