Carolina Firm Chosen to Lead Search for El Koubi Replacement

Jorgenson Consulting will lead One Acadiana’s search for a new president and CEO.

The announcement by the regional economic development organization was made in an issued release by search committee leaders Kathy Bobbs and Don Broussard.

“One Acadiana has made great strides in the last 21/2 years in the areas of regionalism; policy initiatives including workforce development, transportation infrastructure, and public education; governmental affairs; and business leadership and engagement,” Bobbs said in an issued statement. “Our organization is leading efforts to make our region more competitive, and we are eager to fill this role with someone who embraces this opportunity as well as the unique culture of South Louisiana.”

Jorgenson Consulting, based in Greensboro, N.C., is a national executive search firm about 25 years old. Its mission for One Acadiana: Replace Jason El Koubi, who led One Acadiana, the successor organization to the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce since its inception in 2015.

El Koubi left One Acadiana last summer to become executive vice president of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, led by former Louisiana Economic Development secretary Stephen Moret.

Under El Koubi’s leadership, One Acadiana enjoyed some great successes:

  • A successful effort to promote a tax for a new airport terminal
  • Certification of a business development site in Carencro
  • Establishment and certification of an industrial site in Jefferson Davis Parish
  • Election of a more progressive Lafayette school board.
