1. Give us a brief history of your company.
db Architecture of Acadiana was established in 2011 by Architect, David Beverly, with the mission to provide clients with essential and elegant designs from residential to commercial projects. Chuck LeJeune, Assoc. AIA, joined with David and the db Architecture team in 2014 and coined the term “New Louisiana Architecture” while completing a stunning Acadian style home in Rural Louisiana. Having developed a deep respect for each other’s design sensibilities and work ethics as longtime friends in Architecture school, David and Chuck, with a combined experience of 20 years, lead an innovative team of designers who can handle any size project, residential or commercial. They have recently moved into a new office at 233 Doucet Road, Suite A2 in Lafayette (behind Zea’s, next to Red’s) and are excited about their growing presence and reputation in Lafayette, Louisiana.
2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?
db Architecture of Acadiana always starts with tracing paper and a sketch. This is the purest form of communication between Architect and Client. Focusing on both visual and verbal communication, clients appreciate a clear and comprehensive vision for their project. Good design is a collaborative effort and db Architecture of Acadiana believes ample face time with the client is the key to a truly custom design that not only satisfies that clients’ needs, but also the needs of the community.
db Architecture of Acadiana is one of the few firms in our community that use BIM (Building Information Modeling) software to produce their projects. This software allows them to communicate with clients in 3D, which clients always love (sometimes need). And, by remaining on the cutting edge of technology, db Architecture of Acadiana is able to recruit the best talent, provide the best professional service, and ultimately create the happiest clients and most beautiful community.
3. What are you most proud of?
db Architecture of Acadiana is most proud of being able to stretch their client’s imaginations and dream with them throughout the process of designing their home or business. They do this successfully, while not losing touch with the realities of a budget and local construction knowledge and techniques. By collaborating with their clients, db Architecture of Acadiana is able to create a project for the client which far exceeds anyone’s initial expectations.
4. Where do you see your business in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?
db Architecture of Acadiana will continue to grow and provide the highest level of attention which each project deserves to receive. In the years to come, people will continue to seek out db Architecture of Acadiana because they lead one of the premier Architectural practices in the Lafayette area.

As an Architectural practice db Architecture of Acadiana ensures that their designs will preserve, enhance, and beautify the region’s landscape. They take inspiration from local, traditional architecture and allow it to inform their new designs. This gives their unique designs a regional fingerprint. They remain interested in what the local culture is, what it was, and where it is going. This is important because Architects help to create the built environment and they want their designs to not only enhance the local’s experience but also to inform the visitor’s experience as they interact with our community’s Architecture.
