Home Bank Named a “Best Place to Work” by American Banker

Home Bank has been named one of the Best Banks to Work For in 2018 by American Banker Magazine. The Best Banks to Work For program identifies, recognizes, and honors U.S. banks for outstanding employee satisfaction.

“Home Bank strives to attract highly capable and motivated bankers that will flourish in a team-oriented environment and are always committed to doing what is best for the customer,” said John W Bordelon, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We have fostered an environment that emphasizes the importance of family, hard work, and ownership of your responsibilities. We believe that creating such a workplace helps our employees consistently produce at a higher level.”

Determining the Best Banks to Work For involves an evaluation of participating companies’ workplace policies, practices, and demographics. Home Bank staff were surveyed as part of the program and shared that the company’s culture and values make it a great place to work.

“The employees here at Home Bank are trustworthy, dependable and empathetic,” declared a survey respondent. “The benefits that this organization offers are incredible. Working for Home Bank is truly one of the best opportunities I have ever had, and the organization treats me as family. I am thrilled to work for such an outstanding company.”

Home Bank has a comprehensive benefits package for employees including robust health and dental insurance plans, company-paid life insurance, a 401(k) profit sharing plan, an employee stock ownership plan and generous vacation and sick time.

Employees are encouraged to engage in community activities and are given the opportunity to use paid hours to volunteer outside the company. This has resulted in innovative service ideas and donations to worthy causes. In some markets, employees give monetarily through the Home Bank Helps employee giving fund, which provides grants to local nonprofits.

In every banking center, staff use donation bins to host localized donation drives to collect items for nearby schools and nonprofits. Banking center managers are encouraged to host drives whenever there is a local need. Branches frequently use the bins to collect food, toys, school supplies, disaster recovery items, and other important necessities.
