1. Give us a brief history of your company.
GMFS Mortgage is 5-star residential mortgage lender company, established in 1999, doing business throughout the southeast with branch locations in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. The Lafayette branch opened in Spring of 2014 under the management of Aimia “Mimi” Doucet. Since bringing the Louisiana based mortgage company to the Acadiana area, Mimi has added to her team to better serve the Acadiana area. We are proud to offer One Time Close Construction Loan and Renovation Loan Programs that benefits both the builder and the borrower.
2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?
– Our First Responder Program. GMFS does not charge our origination fees to any Police Officer, Firefighter or EMT. This is a savings of $1,000.
– Restoration and Repair programs. GMFS offers programs to support the efforts to restore and repair homes.
– Customer service – Providing exceptional customer service is at the core of our organization.
3. What are you most proud of?
We are most proud of our ability to change lives throughout Acadiana. From the time of application until we sit at the closing table, we pride ourselves on our ability to help and guide our clients with the trust they have instilled in us. Since opening our office in 2014 we have changed 697 lives totaling $122,660,000 in closed mortgages.
4. Where do you see your business in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?
We would love to see our business experience more growth and further our reach. Our ultimate goal is to be able to provide everyone with their dream of being a homeowner.

To our organization “Focused on Forward” means achieving the goal of home ownership. Whether it be your starter home or your forever home we want to help you achieve it. The journey of home ownership is a person’s greatest accomplishment. We want to make that life changing trip as streamlined as possible.
