Hundreds of business-minded people gathered at the Cajundome for One Acadiana’s Regional Celebration.

The celebration is all about networking, and putting a spotlight on local economic development and what’s next for the region.

“it’s not just about attracting new companies to come to your area. it’s about taking care of the companies that are already here.” said One Acadiana CEO Troy Wayman.

Wayman says one of the organization’s proudest accomplishments are the efforts of the business retention and expansion program.

Economic impact and setting the groundwork for the future of Acadiana's economy were the themes for One Acadiana's 2019 Regional Celebration Wednesday night.

Acadiana, here are the facts.

More than six out of every ten Louisiana children under age five, live in homes where both parents, or their single parent, work outside the home. Sixteen percent of parents with young children quit their jobs because of child care issues. Two out of five working parents missed a day of work over the previous three months, one out of five went from full to part-time, and more than one out of ten turned down a promotion - all because of child care issues.
