LAFAYETTE, LA (NOV. 20, 2019) – The CAJUNDOME & Convention Center is pleased to announce that construction is underway on a brand new on-premise beverage outlet. “The Table Room” features a 500-person capacity venue that will provide additional entertainment space and bar service during major CAJUNDOME events. Construction is nearing completion expected to open in mid-January 2020. The renovated space will serve as a new beverage outlet, featuring a sports bar atmosphere.

Retail store set to move into former Fred’s building

 

Carencro, LA, Nov. 20, 2019--Goodwill Industries of Acadiana will be hosting a two-day grand opening event on Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7 to celebrate the relocation of its Carencro retail store. The event will take place at the new location in the former Fred’s building at 812 Veterans Drive.

The ninth annual Professional Career Reception will be at 4-6 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Picard Center, 200 E. Devalcourt St.

Job seekers will be able to meet with hiring managers from a variety of companies that are currently hiring for openings in management, sales, finance and banking, engineering, technology, software development, customer service, accounting, marketing, health care and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and to dress professionally.

Progress on new terminal continues

LAFAYETTE, La. — Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins announced Wednesday that the Lafayette Regional Airport will receive an additional $5.5 million dollars in supplemental funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation as part of the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Improvement Program.

The ninth annual Professional Career Reception is scheduled on Tuesday, December 3, 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the Picard Center at 200 E. Devalcourt St. The event is hosted by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Department of Career Services, the Louisiana Workforce Commission, One Acadiana, and the Lafayette Economic Development Authority.

Today, officials will share more information on two major projects at the Lafayette Regional Airport.

Airport Director Steven Picou will give an update on the new terminal project and the addition of a second TSA checkpoint at the facility.

The update will take place during One Acadiana's Council Luncheon at the Picard Center in Lafayette.

Among the highlights: Vermilion Parish is the second highest rated school system in the state with all high schools receiving an “A” rating. The Early College Academy in Lafayette Parish is tied for the second highest performing school in the state.
