Invest Acadiana to Hold Opportunity Zone Pitch Competition

Invest Acadiana — a joint initiative between the Acadiana Planning Commission and One Acadiana to promote Opportunity Zones — is hosting a “Shark Tank” style pitch competition for potential opportunity zone projects.

The competition, which will be April 22, the opening night of Festival International de Louisiane, is aimed at connecting local Opportunity Zone projects with local and national investors. There will be an interest meeting Dec. 11 from 8 to 9 a.m. at Jefferson Street Pub in Lafayette.

“The momentum and enthusiasm around OZ Pitch Fest 2020 is growing. Opportunity Zone initiatives provide tremendous potential to accelerate our regional efforts to build a stronger, more vibrant and resilient economy, and strengthen equitable growth in communities across Acadiana,” said Troy Wayman, president and CEO of One Acadiana. “The interest meeting is a perfect opportunity to learn more about Invest Acadiana’s mission to connect community-driven projects with the capital needed to turn ideas into reality.”
