Local band Three Thirty Seven and The Grouse room are scheduled to host awareness event for Faith House Friday, June 14th.
Ashley Addison, co-lead singer of the band, is a recent domestic violence survivor and not only felt compelled to share her story but to also bring awareness to others who may be in violent relationships. Ashley had a solid network of friends, family, and bandmates to help her and they all pointed her in the direction of Faith House.
Faith House is not only a shelter, but also a full domestic violence crisis center. Their services range from permanent and transitional housing, to support and counseling groups, to legal advocacy and assistance with all legal needs such as restraining orders. After receiving help and support from not only family and friends, Addison said Faith House has been instrumental in the healing and legal process.
Ashely and her bandmates, along with Matt Chiasson, owner of The Grouse Room, are hoping to not only raise money for Faith House, but also awareness of the all the services they provide to victims and survivors of domestic violence.
Chiasson says, “We opened The Grouse Room in memory of my late brother and world renowned photographer, John Chiasson, with family at the forefront and to give our Lafayette community a venue to celebrate all occasions in a nice and safe environment!
Ashley and her bandmates Three Thirty Seven are Grouse Room family and we look forward to opening the doors for the June 14th show to give back to the Acadiana community that has become like family too.”
