Member Spotlight: HOPE Healthcare and Hospice

1. Give us a brief history of your company.

HOPE Healthcare and Hospice was created by a local, experienced group of healthcare professionals that possess a passion for making a difference in the lives of those touched by advanced illness. Our nurses, as well as the rest of our care team work side by side with the patient's doctor and our Medical Director to provide the highest quality of care. We currently serve Acadia, St. Landry, St. Mary, Lafayette, Iberia, Evangeline, Jeff Davis, St. Martin, and Vermilion parish.

2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?

HOPE Healthcare and Hospice is a locally owned agency, which allows us to treat each patient like they are part of our family as opposed to just another number. We tailor each patient’s plan of care to their individual needs. Our goal at HOPE Healthcare and Hospice is not to be the biggest but to be the BEST! We understand ”these are the last memories family members will have with their loved one and the last experience the patient will have on this earth. We will only get one opportunity to do it right. “

3. What are you most proud of?

When family members thank our team for the exceptional care, their loved one received. Also, knowing we’ve impacted a patient and their family members in a positive and memorable way.

4. Where do you see your business in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?

Our goal at HOPE Healthcare and Hospice is to continue providing end-of-life care for many years to come to those in need and to be the name immediately thought of when hospice care is needed.

5. 1A is “Focused on Forward” – meaning we are taking an active role of improving the community we live in. Our members are Focused on Forward, too! - What does Focused on Forward mean to you? How is your company Focused on Forward?

We believe HOPE Healthcare and Hospice is Focused on Forward by providing our medical community, patients and their family members with education regarding the hospice benefit. Often, patients and family members are afraid of the word “hospice.” We feel it is not only our job but our responsibility to change the preconceived notion about hospice. We HOPE to create new memories and to give them solace in knowing the best care is being provided.
