Glenn Armentor Feeds the Future with Glenn Armentor “Pay It Forward” Food Drive

Glenn Armentor “Pay It Forward” Food Drive Kicked Off With $5,000 Donation

LAFAYETTE, LA – Glenn Armentor is partnering with NuNu’s Market, Townsquare Media and Fox 15 KADN/NBC 15 KLAF for the Glenn Armentor “Pay It Forward” Food Drive, hoping to collect as much food as possible for Second Harvest Food Bank to feed families and kids in need at the start of the school year.

The Glenn Armentor “Pay It Forward” Food Drive came into being as a response to children in Acadiana heading back to school. While there are many school supply drives at this time of year, the number of food drives is much scarcer. School supply drives are of the utmost importance for students, but the need for food is equally important. A recent study even showed that having reliable access to a sufficient amount of food could affect learning ability in children as early as kindergarten.

Glenn Armentor has always felt a calling to help at-risk children, having grown up in a large family that struggled with poverty. With the help of some generous people in his life, he managed to make it through law school and forge a prestigious career for himself. He is forever thankful to those who helped him and promised to do the same, which is how the Glenn Armentor “Pay It Forward” Scholarship Program of Excellence was born.

The Glenn Armentor “Pay It Forward” Food Drive is inspired by that same call to help and pay forward the kindness Armentor was shown in his youth. Being one of 10 siblings made it hard for his parents to provide enough food for their whole family. “If a food bank like Second Harvest had existed near us at that time, my family would’ve used it,” said Armentor.

About the Glenn Armentor “Pay It Forward” Food Drive

The Glenn Armentor “Pay It Forward” Food Drive begins on Tuesday, September 3rd and will end on Friday, September 13th. All of the donations will be given to Second Harvest Food Bank in Lafayette to be distributed amongst families in need throughout Acadiana.

There are seven available drop-off locations: The Glenn Armentor Law Corporation at 300 Stewart Street, Townsquare Media at 1749 Bertrand Drive, FOX 15 KADN/NBC 15 KLAF at 1500 Eraste Landry Road and all NuNu’s Market stores.

On Saturday, September 7th, a large drop-off event will take place at NuNu’s Market in Youngsville. The Glenn Armentor Law Corporation, Townsquare Media and News 15 representatives will be there to encourage donations and help sort donated items from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

“If you’re planning on stopping by the grocery store before you tailgate for the UL football game on Saturday, September 7th, please choose NuNu’s Market in Youngsville,” encouraged Glenn Armentor. “Help us feed the future of Acadiana.”

An online monetary donation page has also been created for those unable to appear at the donation drop-offs. Just $1 can provide up to four meals for people in need, according to Second Harvest Food Bank. Glenn Armentor kicked off the food drive with a $5,000 donation, which could provide up to 20,000 meals.
