Member Spotlight: Chicken Salad Chick

1. Give us a brief history of your company.

The Chicken Salad Chick concept, born in Auburn, Alabama, was established in 2008 in the kitchen of founder, Stacy Brown. When Stacy discovered that the local county health department would not allow her to continue making and selling her delicious recipes out of her home kitchen, she overcame that obstacle by launching her first restaurant with the business expertise of her future husband and fellow founder, Kevin Brown. Together, they opened a small takeout restaurant, which quickly grew; the company now has more than 120 restaurants across 14 states.  There is so much more to her amazing story. 2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?

Our chicken salad makes us special!   We serve over a dozen varieties of chicken salad that are made fresh daily.   You can order as a scoop or sandwich, and pair it with any of our delicious side salads or gourmet soups. We also have a classic garden salad that is served with your choice of chicken salad on top! If you don’t like chicken salad, we have pimento cheese, egg salad and specialty turkey sandwiches. We really have something for everyone.  Even the kids love Chicken Salad Chick, and every Friday your child eats free with an adult purchase.  We also have a wonderful app, Craving Credits, which can be use to order online. Our app also allows guests to earn points for every purchase, which they can then redeem for free food, swag, and more.

3. What are you most proud of?

We have lots to be proud of here at Chicken Salad Chick! We have a fabulous product, which is homemade and served from the heart daily. Our team members are like our family, and some have been with us since we opened our first store. They help to make each guest’s experience a positive and memorable one. Our area manager started working on the sandwich line and now oversees all of our locations. We are also proud of our loyal customers whose familiar faces bring us joy daily!

4. Where do you see your business in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?

In 10 years we see ourselves growing in Acadiana and beyond.  Our next store will be opening in Baton Rouge next year.  We are always looking to grow and reach every potential guest in and around the area.

5. 1A is “Focused on Forward” – meaning we are taking an active role of improving the community we live in. Our members are Focused on Forward, too! – What does Focused on Forward mean to you? How is your company Focused on Forward?

To Chicken Salad Chick, ‘Focused on Forward’ means being present in the community. Helping serve and lend a hand where we can. We love Acadiana and are always looking for ways to spread joy, enrich lives, and serve others.
