The event will be held at the Cajundome Convention Center and is set to start at 5:30 p.m. and to last until 8 p.m.

A delegation of Acadiana's top officials visited the White House on Thursday to celebrate the region's embrace of President Donald Trump's Opportunity Zone program and to discuss how the program can attract investment in disadvantaged areas.

Monique Boulet, president and CEO of the Acadiana Planning Commission, said Thursday's meeting with officials from the White House, the Treasury Department and the Department of Agriculture offered huge opportunity for dozens of Louisiana officials.

One Acadiana was recognized as an Accredited Economic Development Organization by the International Economic Development Council, both organizations announced Tuesday. 

The organization was one of only 66 economic development groups to earn that status, said Jeff Finkle, IEDC president and CEO. Organizations must go through six months of documentation and a site review process. mic Development Council.

The International Economic Development Council is the largest membership group for economic and community development professionals in the world, with more than 5,000 members.

LAFAYETTE, La. – Today, President and CEO Troy Wayman of One Acadiana (1A) and President and CEO Jeff Finkle of The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) announced 1A has earned recognition as an Accredited Economic Development Organization. 1A is one of only 66 economic development groups in the world to earn the AEDO status, which follows a six-month long documentation and site review process by the International Economic Development Council.
