A 38.45-acre site in Carencro has been certified under the Louisiana Economic Development Certified Sites program.

The site located at Cenac Park is Acadiana's 17th certified site and is the third certified site in Lafayette Parish, according to local economic development organization One Acadiana.

Hosted by One Acadiana. Dr. Scott’s virtual presentation on the state and region’s economic landscape will include an analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on our state’s economy, an outlook on the region’s strongest sectors, and an expert’s perspective on the oil and gas industry. The Lafayette area may recover all the jobs lost during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it won't happen until at least 2023, economist Loren Scott said.

Speaking during his annual Louisiana Economic Outlook presentation to One Acadiana on Wednesday, Scott noted how Acadiana will get support from its top six employers despite a pessimistic outlook for the oil and gas industry, particularly offshore.

The help desk was created through a partnership between the Lafayette Parish School System and the Love Our Schools Link & Learn initiative.

Lafayette public school families seeking help with password reset troubles, internet connectivity and navigating the technical challenges of learning at home have a new resource to consult for help.

The Link & Learn Help Desk is a partnership between the Lafayette Parish School System and the Love Our Schools technology initiative, Link & Learn. The Link & Learn program brokers deals with local internet providers for low-cost internet service and funds academic internet access in qualifying homes.

Lafayette Parish School System employees are fielding calls from students about how to log in to virtual learning, change their passwords and other technical issue that come up as they cope with remote instruction during COVID-19.

At least 30 teachers, librarians and technology staff serve as technical facilitators at the central office and schools across the district to answer the questions, with each school donating at least six hours a week, Chief Administrative Officer Jennifer Gardner said Wednesday.

LAFAYETTE – Cox has announced a partnership with Lafayette General Health which will help Acadiana residents get the latest information on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
