Founded in 2006, Advantous Consulting, LLC is owned and operated by Jimmy Leonard and Jason DeCuir. Advantous is Louisiana’s premiere state and local tax firm, providing tax solutions that range from turnkey compliance services to high-level planning and advisory tax consulting. Advantous sets the standard for professionalism, quality, operational excellence, and client representation, by which every company in the industry is measured.
2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?
With roots local in Acadiana and in south Louisiana, Advantous has a comprehensive team of professionals bringing over 60 years of experience in state and local tax. We offer a variety of services uniquely customized to help our clients navigate Louisiana’s complex state and local tax landscape that can be confusing to even the life-long Louisiana resident. These services include compliance, audit defense, appeals and more for all major tax types including sales/use tax, property tax, and incentive/credit programs, just to name a few. Advantous also offers a robust government relations team to holistically represent its clients with all state and local tax issues. 4. Where do you see your business in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?
Advantous is constantly growing and expanding its service offering to holistically represent its clients. We are extremely excited about the opportunities for growth that lie ahead with every new addition to our team and our increasing client base. As the leading state and local tax firm in Louisiana, in the next 10 years, we see Advantous becoming a leader in the regional and national markets as well.

Impact to Advantous means doing more than meeting our own individual needs and that of our clients’. At Advantous, we see the bigger picture and our unique position to positively impact entire communities we do work in. Advantous is committed to positively impacting those communities by helping clients create thousands of jobs for families in Louisiana and by supporting the philanthropic activities of our employees. Advantous and its employees are very involved in non-profit and community activities through service in organizations such as The Salvation Army, The Junior League, Teach for America, and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank—just to name a few.
