Coronavirus: One Acadiana launches toolkit for businesses in region

The chamber of commerce for the region, One Acadiana, announced the launch Friday of its Economic Recovery Toolkit, an online collection of resources for businesses affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

“We are proud to be a source for accurate information during this crisis,” said Troy Wayman, One Acadiana’s president and chief executive. “We are working every day alongside our regional partners to provide a rapid response to businesses seeking answers and guidance. Our efforts are focused on minimizing the damage to our economy and preparing for the recovery to come.”

The toolkit includes quick-reference guides to help businesses navigate different resources, such as the Paycheck Protection Program, which was included in Congress’ Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. The CARES Act includes several provisions that aim to keep workers employed and small businesses running.

The kit also includes guides to Economic Injury Disaster Loans, Paid Leave Tax Credits, Employee Retention Tax Credits, and the Louisiana Loan Portfolio Guaranty Program announced by Gov. John Bel Edwards earlier in the week. The LPGP offers loans of up to $100,000 to small businesses of fewer than 100 employees.

The toolkit can be found at OneAcadiana.org/COVID-19-Resources.
