Meet VieMed, winner of Junior Achievement of Acadiana's Large Business of the Year

VieMed, one of the nation's fastest growing home respiratory disease management companies, has been named the Large Business of the Year for the Junior Achievement of Acadiana's annual Business Hall of Fame.

VieMed, now publicly traded on the NASDAQ (VMD), is currently licensed in over 47 states. The business provides home respiratory service to over 22,000 patients struggling with respiratory diseases including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and various neuromuscular diseases.

The Lafayette-based business founded in 2006 by two good friends, Casey Hoyt and Michael Moore.

In 2010, Hoyt also pioneered one of the first home sleep testing companies in the country, Home Sleep Delivered, which is still a subsidiary of VieMed today.

Prior to VieMed, Hoyt founded and ran Nimlok Louisiana, a worldwide distributor of tradeshow exhibits and graphics.

Born and raised in Lafayette and a graduate of University Louisiana Lafayette, Hoyt is known for his ability to build out fast moving patient-focused companies.

Hoyt started from entrepreneurial beginnings. He has held many jobs — from lawn care and catering to alarm salesperson and waiter. He even worked his way through college at Louisiana State University and UL.

After college, he entered his families business — Pixus to Voxx to Sleep Management.

Outside of Viemed, Hoyt is currently on the board of The American Association For Homecare. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and is an avid outdoors men.

The award of Large Business of the Year is given to a company with more than 50 employees. The company selected has demonstrated success in its field and has contributed to the community and exemplified outstanding corporate citizenship. The corporate headquarters may be outside of Acadiana.
