Vibrant Community Concert, a first-time event, is being presented by Downtown Lafayette Unlimited and One Acadiana.

Horace Trahan & The Ossun Express will perform live in Parc Sans Souci at 7 p.m. on June 17.

This concert is a part of One Acadiana's Vibrant Community Summit. The two-day summit, June 17 and 18, will feature Quint Studer, a business leader in Pensacola, Florida. The event will "explore how these lessons might be applicable to our own community," according to the press release. 

One Acadiana has partnered with Downtown Lafayette Unlimited (DLU) to bring you a live, community concert in the heart of Acadiana. The Vibrant Community Concert is scheduled for Thursday, June 17 in Parc Sans Souci, Downtown Lafayette. Live performance by Horace Trahan & The Ossun Express will kick off promptly at 7:00pm.

Event to convene global economic leaders to discuss trade, innovation, entrepreneurship and economic resiliency

With three weeks to go in the 2021 Regular Session, 1A priorities continue to move forward, including centralized sales tax collection, while debates on how to address statewide worker shortages heated up in the House. The House also approved several tax reform proposals by Sen. Bret Allain, sending them back to the Senate for concurrence. This week, the House will vote on creation of the M.J. Foster Promise Program, a top priority for 1A’s 55 by 25 educational attainment initiative.

Lafayette-based LHC Group has reached an agreement to purchase a company in Tucson, Arizona, company officials announced.

The expanding health care company will purchase two Casa de la Luz locations with the deal expected to be final by July 1, chairman and CEO Keith Myers said.

The expansion into the Tucson market and aligns with its co-location growth strategy to provide multiple in-home services in certain markets. The acquisition is anticipated to result in $23 million in annual revenue, a move that will not materially affect its 2021 diluted earnings per share.

Five weeks into the 2021 Regular Session, two key 1A priorities, centralized sales tax collection and the M.J. Foster Promise Program, continue to move forward. This week, as the Senate Revenue & Fiscal Affairs Committee takes up the state budget, 1A will join the Ready Louisiana Coalition for Early Ed Day to advocate for investing in early care and education.
