Member Spotlight: First National Bank of Jeanerette

1. Give me a brief history of your company.

The First National Bank of Jeanerette first opened its doors for business on June 3, 1905, 116 years ago. Our founders established a clear vision of what this bank should be: a bank committed to the families and businesses of Jeanerette and the surrounding communities through tailored financial solutions, service, and responsiveness. Today, we continue to embrace that mission. Our Main Office, located at 1331 Main Street in Jeanerette, is our original facility, expanded through the acquisition of two adjoining buildings in 1967 and 1980, respectively, providing us with 12,000 square feet plus a drive-in banking facility. We also enjoy the privilege of serving our customers through an additional branch in Jeanerette and offices in New Iberia, Franklin, Baldwin, Loreauville, Morgan City and Lafayette.


2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?

Our bank officers bring more than 375 years of banking experience to work for our customers; experience which allows us to provide solutions above and beyond the norm. We go above and beyond within our community. We are involved in many events and activities around Acadiana and the surrounding areas.


3. What are you most proud of?

For over 116 years we have continued to grow our financial institution and adhere to our mission. We are proud to be an active part of the Acadiana community where we can connect on a personal level with our customers. Being connected within the community allows us to learn about the families and businesses surrounding the area including their financial needs and plans for growth. Our array of financial solutions and services allow us to effectively tailor to each customer.

4. Where do you see your business in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?

In 10 years, we see our business continuously growing and opening in more locations around Acadiana. We intend to grow all while learning how to better service our customers and communities.


5. 1A is making an impact as we take an active role in improving the community we live in. Our members are making an impact, too! - What does impact mean to you? How is your company making an impact?

FNBJ is a financial institution that strives to meet the needs of our customer base and better serve our communities. We want our customers to succeed and their finances to be secure and growing. For us, impact within our community means helping a new business secure a business loan to grow their dreams or a future homeowner secure a home loan to buy their dream home and so much more. The customer base of One Acadiana is our customer base as well. By being a part of One Acadiana we are helping our customers within the community as well as helping us to learn and grow how we can be the best.
