Louisiana's Legislature wrapped up their once-a-decade special session on redistricting February 18, two days ahead of schedule.

High-Level Outcomes

Legislators approved new district maps for the following government bodies, which largely maintain the status quo:

LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANAFebruary 21, 2022 – Broussard, LeBlanc, and Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC. in Lafayette, has earned the 2021 Ameriprise Client Experience Award.

In the national 2021 J.D. Powers Electric Utility Business Customer Satisfaction Study, Lafayette-based SLEMCO ranked seventh out of the nation’s 145 largest electric utilities. Residential customers in over 101 million households scored their power companies performance based on; power quality and reliability; price; billing and payment; communications; corporate citizenship; and customer care. SLEMCO’s overall score of 808 outpaced the national average of 748.

Standard Title is a veteran-owned real estate title company founded in Lafayette in 2001. With five locations across South Louisiana, Standard Title provides residential and commercial title, escrow, and legal support services.

2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?

McDonald’s owner/operators, EJ and Chris Krampe along with their more than 2200 South Louisiana team members, will be celebrating 50 years in business for all of 2022! EJ and Chris’ father, Ed Krampe Jr. began operating his first McDonald’s restaurant in Lafayette, La. in 1972. “We have been bringing families together to enjoy fun food in South Louisiana for over 50 years. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our guests, our employees, and our entire McDonald’s family and community throughout 2022”, said Chris Krampe.
