Mitchell Silver to discuss Creating Equitable Communities through Buildings, Streets, and Landscapes

LAFAYETTE — Entergy Louisiana is continuing to partner with regional organizations to help areas of the state like Acadiana grow and prosper through economic development. One of the organizations helping us create a more vibrant economy is One Acadiana.

Acadiana is no stranger to innovation. From the creation of one of the first public power utilities in the country to one of the first community-wide fiber installations, our region has invested in infrastructure for the next generation of connectivity.

1. Give us a brief history of your organization. 

I went into practice with my father at his firm in Ville Platte right after I received my license to practice. That was in July of 2018. I wanted to expand to Lafayette, into a bigger market, so I created The Vidrine Law Firm, LLC. I opened an office in January of 2022 in the Chase Tower in Downtown. I work between my office in Lafayette and my office in Ville Platte.

1. Give us a brief history of your organization. 

One Acadiana hosted CivicCon Acadiana: Quality of Life in Lafayette, welcoming Quint Studer back to Lafayette to release the results of the second annual Quality-of-Life (QOL) Survey.

One Acadiana will present the second quality of life survey results during its CivicCon event Monday with Pensacola philanthropist Quint Studer.

The meeting will be 5:30 p.m. at the Acadiana Center for the Arts, 101 W. Vermilion St., and feature the findings from the quality of life survey conducted late last year to gauge residents’ opinion of life in Lafayette Parish, One Acadiana officials said.

BATON ROUGE, La. – Gov. John Bel Edwards has officially recognized Nov. 7-11 as Veterans Small Business Week in Louisiana, honoring veterans who continue to demonstrate their commitment to public service through business ownership and job creation.
 
The governor’s proclamation allows Louisiana to extend the spotlight on service that began Oct. 31 at the start of National Veterans Small Business Week, which annually showcases U.S. Small Business Administration programs and services available to veteran entrepreneurs.

Planet Fitness was founded in 1992 and has evolved to a gym where everyone feels comfortable. In 2010, Kevin and Dottie Windham opened up their 1st Planet Fitness in Lafayette, La and have continued to grow their franchise over the years. Currently the Windham’s own 13 locations from Crowley to LaPlace, Louisiana.
