1. Give us a brief history of your organization.
Worth Counseling Group was created out of the desire to cultivate more opportunities for counselors to have a more sustainable career. Counselors tend to burn out at an accelerated pace working in hospitals and community organizations. Worth Counseling Group’s goal is to create balance in counselors work and personal life.
2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?
We work with an interdisciplinary team to provide a one-stop shop approach for our clientele. Our goal is to provide efficiency and convenience to our community.
3. What are you most proud of?
Being a woman owned and operated business. We also withstood a pandemic without having to shut our doors!
4. Where do you see your organization in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?
Expansion into rural areas in Louisiana to provide more access for our extended community. Expect to see more locations of Worth Counseling Group!
5. 1A is making an impact as we take an active role in improving the community we live in. Our members are making an impact, too! – What does impact mean to you? How is your company making an impact?
Impact means creating a ripple effect by pervasive influence. One of our profound forefathers of counseling, Irvin Yalom, refers to rippling as “the fact that each of us creates—often without our conscious intent or knowledge—concentric circles of influence that may affect others for years, even for generations.” This concept shaped how we created our logo which is a concentric wave.
