Despite seeing low sales activity in parts of 2020, Lafayette Parish could break retail sales records this year, owing in large part to significant gains in areas like food sales, home furniture sales and building material stores.

In April, Lafayette Parish's retail sales figures looked dire. Compared to 2019, sales dropped $72 million, or 16.2%, for the month and were down $89.8 million, or 4.5%, on the year.

Baba Kabab has been a dream for our family. We've always wanted to bring a true Kabab House to Southern Louisiana, that infused the flavors and spices of traditional Turkish cuisine.

2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?

Our unique dishes made in our Old World Clay Pot Oven. Dishes are crafted in a clay pot, sealed, then cooked to perfection in our clay pot oven!

Vincent June has been named chancellor of South Louisiana Community College, following a Wednesday vote by the Louisiana Community & Technical College System’s board of supervisors.

The vote came in executive session during the supervisors’ regular scheduled December meeting.

The new chancellor replaces former Chancellor Natalie Harder, who left SLCC on June 30 to become president at Coker University in South Carolina. She had been SLCC’s chancellor for eight years.
