When the goal is successful developing the economy in an area, it’s best when the people vested in that success see the area.
One Acadiana, an economic development organization that serves the nine-parish region of Acadiana, allowed an opportunity for a close-up view of Iberia, St. Mary and Vermilion Parishes during its 2015 Building the Region Conference. The two-day event wrapped up Friday afternoon with a luncheon at Magdalen Place in Abbeville.

OneAcadiana’s Building the Region Conference’s first day included a luncheon in Antique Rose Ville near New Iberia, where economic leaders from St. Mary and Iberia parishes dined and with representatives from the other parishes represented in OneAcadiana and emphasized strength in numbers.

One Acadiana, the regional chamber of commerce, is looking at solutions for a problem we all know too well, traffic.
The group has come up with research that said Lafayette needs to address three main areas: making investments to relief traffic congestion, securing adequate funding for current roads and developing infrastructure based on technical analysis.

One Acadiana, the regional economic development group that replaced Lafayette's chamber of commerce, on Tuesday unveiled two priorities it would like the next Lafayette city-parish president and council to "support, articulate and advance."
They include executing a prioritized road and bridge infrastructure program and amending the home rule charter and consolidated government.

Ahead of the upcoming local elections the group “One Acadiana” on Tuesday presented its final ‘Priorities for a Better Lafayette’.
Members of the economic development group talked about the need for better roads and fixing the charter. They announced a set of action items for the region. Business leaders talked about the importance of these priorities.

One Acadiana held a press conference Tuesday at the South Regional Library in Lafayette to discuss a prioritized infrastructure program and amending the city-parish charter.
The discussion centered around making smarter investments in roads and bridges based on technical analysis and public input.

One Acadiana kicked off its “Priorities For A Better Lafayette” initiative at a meeting Tuesday.
The acceleration of PlanLafayette is a primary focus here in the Hub City. As part of the initiative, one of four action steps is finding a clear way to re-purpose the old federal courthouse building.

One Acadiana held a another press conference today at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center to focus on accelerating the implementation of PlanLafayette, the parish’s 20-year comprehensive plan. The organization said the plan is one of three key “Priorities for a Better Lafayette” it is advancing in the upcoming local elections.
