This month, we’re excited to highlight The Cookie Door, a charming bakery owned by visionary founder Vera Davis. Located at 730 Albertsons Parkway, Suite E, in Broussard, Louisiana, The Cookie Door has become a beloved spot for gourmet cookies and baked goods since it opened its doors in 2022. What started as a passion project during the COVID-19 pandemic has blossomed into a thriving family business that has enriched the local community.
Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Vera moved to Louisiana in 2012 with her husband, Oran (“Big O”), a Louisiana native. Together with their three children, Moni, Kynya, and Isan, the Davis family has made The Cookie Door a warm, welcoming place where every customer feels like part of the family. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., The Cookie Door offers a delectable selection of cookies, brownies, and other treats that bring joy and evoke memories with every bite.
Vera’s commitment to personalized service and community spirit shines at The Cookie Door. She takes pride in connecting with customers and creating a memorable experience that makes every visit special. It’s this dedication to fostering genuine connections and crafting “the perfect cookie” that has made The Cookie Door a local treasure and a favorite stop for cookie lovers of all ages.
We were able to discuss the process of creating a business plan with Vera and provided some potential resources to seek funding for the business for future expansion. We look forward to seeing the future success of the business!
