Through the support of local businesses, The705 and SLCC are partnering again this year to host the 2022 Case Competition for SLCC students. This competition provides SLCC students and young professionals with an opportunity to leverage knowledge and experience to identify a solution to a real-world scenario. Participants build and exhibit analytical, critical thinking, and written and oral communication skills. Teams consist of 2-4 students, therefore they also gain practice working in a team.
The 2022 case problem focuses on the incorporation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in organizational or system strategies. As done last year, each team will be able to pick which industry/system they will address out of Financial, Healthcare, Government/Policy/Criminal Justice, Education, and Large Corporate organizations. With the support of Skyra Rideaux, LLC, Home Bank, Mac-Laff, Inc, The Greater Southwest Louisiana Black Chamber of Commerce, and Under Pressure, the top 3 teams will walk away with cash prizes…. First place – $3,000, Second place – $1,500, and Third place $500!!
We would like to encourage local business and organizational leaders to view the Final presentations. Here, SLCC students will present different perspectives around the implementation and pros/cons of identified DEI strategies. The finals and award ceremony will be held at the Lafayette SLCC Campus Auditorium on November 11th from 3p-5p.
