New “SpaceX in Acadiana” online hub will provide project updates, FAQs, supplier resources and other key information as investment in Vermilion Parish moves forward
LAFAYETTE, La. — One Acadiana (1A) has launched a new SpaceX in Acadiana online resource hub, providing businesses, residents and community partners with a central source of information as SpaceX moves forward with its historic investment in Vermilion Parish.
Designed as a living, evolving resource, the hub will be updated throughout the development of the project as new information, opportunities and milestones become available. The page brings together key project details, anticipated timelines, frequently asked questions, resources for businesses interested in becoming suppliers or service providers, employment information, and additional ways for community members to stay informed and engaged.
The resource follows SpaceX’s announcement of a $100 billion investment in Vermilion Parish to develop its largest launch facility. The project is expected to create 3,000 direct new jobs over the next 10 years with an average annual salary of $92,600. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the investment will also generate more than 8,100 indirect new jobs, resulting in more than 11,100 new job opportunities across Acadiana.
At full buildout, the site is expected to include five launch complexes, each with two launch pads and a propellant farm. The development will also include a propellant production facility, power generation, vehicle processing and residential housing for employees and their families. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with the first launch targeted for as soon as 2029.

One Acadiana worked closely alongside Governor Landry’s Administration, Louisiana Economic Development, and Vermilion Parish officials to bring the $100 billion investment in Vermilion Parish to fruition. Serving as a regional partner and connector, the organization advocated for Acadiana and positioned the region for investment – highlighting available assets, workforce, infrastructure, and overall ability to support a project of this scale. The SpaceX project represents the collaborative, “whole of Louisiana” approach to economic development that has helped Louisiana compete for major investment opportunities.

Among the business resources available through the hub is information about Source Louisiana, the state’s online database connecting Louisiana businesses with contract and vendor opportunities associated with major economic development projects. SpaceX has joined Source Louisiana, and businesses are encouraged to register and maintain updated profiles to help position themselves for potential contracting opportunities.
As the SpaceX project progresses from announcement through construction and operations, One Acadiana will continue to update the hub to reflect new information and resources as they become available.
