Legislative Priorities

Each year, 1A works with our investors, local partners, subject matter experts, and elected officials, to develop a set of high-level legislative priorities intended to convey a simple message on behalf of Acadiana’s business community. Below is a link to our priorities for the 2023 Regular Legislative Session:

Legislative Session Recap

Following the adjournment of the 2024 Regular Session on June 3, 1A released our annual written recap on the Legislature’s progress on key 1A priority issues:

  • Economic competitiveness
  • Talent development
  • Infrastructure investment

We also released a three-part video series with highlight reels on each of the above issue areas.

Public Policy Agenda

1A’s Public Policy Agenda comprehensively outlines our positions on policy issues we regard as vital to the success and prosperity of the Acadiana region, focusing on economic development, workforce & education, infrastructure, and urban revitalization & development, with a little “lagniappe” (something extra) for good measure.

1A Region State Legislators

We work closely with legislators from our nine-parish region to develop responsible solutions to our most pressing challenges. We are grateful to the 24 legislators who serve the 1A region for their tireless service and leadership on behalf of Acadiana.
