Urban Core Revitalization

A strong urban core helps Acadiana compete for talent and investment by offering the amenities and sense of place that people and businesses seek. That’s why urban core revitalization is a central pillar of the Vibrant Acadiana initiative.

CivicCon Acadiana

CivicCon Acadiana is a civic conversation series featuring local and national experts to explore timely issues, raise civic IQ, and encourage community dialogue. The series highlights best practices in placemaking, development, and quality-of-life improvement.

Quality of Life Data

Improving quality of life starts with understanding it. Through our Quality-of-Life Survey and regional Data Dashboards, One Acadiana tracks both community sentiment and objective regional performance. Together, these tools ground civic conversations in reliable data and inform strategies that strengthen regional vibrancy.

Small Business Challenge

The Small Business Challenge launched in fall 2023 to support small business growth and downtown redevelopment, modeled on a similar effort highlighted during One Acadiana’s Leadership Exchange to Pensacola. The open competition awarded $100,000 for buildout costs and a lease to the historic Sans Souci Building to the best idea for a downtown small business. The initiative concluded in 2025 with the grand opening of Magnolia Pantry, the competition’s winner, bringing new vibrancy to the heart of downtown Lafayette.
