South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc) celebrated its Fall 2026 scholarship recipients and the donors who support their success during a reception held Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Downtown Convention Center in Lafayette.
This fall, the Foundation for SoLAcc awarded over $186,000 in scholarships to SoLAcc students. Made possible through the generosity of businesses, organizations and individuals throughout Acadiana, the scholarships help students offset the cost of their education as they work toward their academic and career goals.
“These scholarships are about more than financial support. They are a reminder to our students that our community believes in them and is invested in their success,” said Brittany Ducote, Development & Alumni Coordinator at SoLAcc. “The generosity of our donors helps remove barriers for students while giving them the opportunity to focus on completing their education and building their futures.”
Scholarship recipients represented programs and areas of study across SoLAcc, while the donors behind the awards reflected the businesses, industries, organizations and individuals that make up the communities the College serves.
Jim & Alice McDuff of Live Like Liam of Iberia, Inc. were among the donors supporting SoLAcc students this fall.
“SoLAcc scholarships are a perfect fit for Live Like Liam of Iberia. It’s an honor to have a meaningful impact on a student’s journey as they work towards their goal of obtaining a degree. How often do we get a chance to affect someone’s life? Partnering with students striving for a better life is Live Like Liam of Iberia’s mission, in honor of Liam McDuff.”
The Fall 2026 Scholarship Reception brought students, donors and College representatives together to recognize the impact of scholarship support and celebrate the students receiving awards this semester.
