1A Hosts State Leaders on Fiscal Reform

On November 30, 1A welcomed three leaders of the Task Force on Structural Changes in Budget and Tax Policy to discuss the Louisiana Department of Revenue’s recommendations on statewide comprehensive fiscal reform.

Key leaders gathered to gain background and context on the issue from State Economist Dr. Jim Richardson; a summary of the task force’s process and findings from Department of Revenue Secretary Kim Robinson; and insight on the business perspective from tax professional Jason DeCuir.

Over the coming months, 1A will be working through our committees, and ultimately our Board, to develop our policy agenda for the 2017 Legislative Session. A big piece of our agenda will focus on comprehensive fiscal reform. As we develop and advance our agenda, we’ll be working closely with other business-based organizations across the state.
