Member Spotlight: TANTRUM Lab

by | Jun 7, 2017 | Members

Give me a brief history of your company.
TANTRUM LabĀ is a new business, only truly coming to life in mid-2016. We were born from Experiential Marketing where we focused on creating memorable consumer experiences in New York. Our move to Lafayette was an opportunity for us to harness the local talent and focus on developing Virtual Reality Experiences.

What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?
Our commitment to innovation and our in-house, home-grown ability to create complete Virtual Reality systems for training, marketing or entertainment means that we truly are at the cutting edge of applying new technology to industry. Weā€™re not a game company, weā€™re a training and simulation company.

What are you most proud of?
The usual clichĆ© ā€“ The team! But in all seriousness, the young team we have here are some of the most talented, forward-thinking, visionary computer programmers in the state. They have the ability to see a new piece of technology, understand it and then rapidly and accurately apply it to a completely new industry, with exceptional results.

Where do you see your business in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?
The pace of change is so rapid currently that I think the items weā€™re seeing as specialist training tools and software will become as commonplace as the iPad has become in regular business. Mixed Reality combined with Deep Learning will shatter the line between screens, computers, and users.

1A is ā€œFocused on Forwardā€ ā€“ meaning we are taking an active role in improving the community we live in. Our members are Focused on Forward, too! – What does Focused on Forward mean to you? How is your company Focused on Forward?Ā Focused Forward could be our business model; weā€™re built on staying ahead of new developments in technology and industry. Everyone in the team is encouraged to discover, share, and discuss new opportunities and technologies.

As a business, we must remain present in the now while always looking forward to the future, if we become settled, stale, and stagnate not only in our offerings but our relationships our clients will become distracted by the new kid on the block. Weā€™re always bringing something new to our customers.
