U.S. Senator John Neely Kennedy visited Acadiana to provide a congressional update at a lunch hosted by One Acadiana and the Broussard Chamber of Commerce.

Kennedy’s update, which covered his work representing Louisiana in Washington, provided insight into how he’s opposed the government spending that raised grocery and gas pump prices for Louisiana families and what he’s doing to support jobs and affordable energy in Louisiana.

“It was great to be at the Broussard Chamber of Commerce today to talk with folks and business owners from across Acadiana. I appreciate the good-paying jobs these businesses create for the people of Acadiana, and the work the chamber does to support the local economy. Thank you to One Acadiana, the Broussard Chamber, Broussard Economic Development Corporation, and the City of Broussard for hosting!”

“The Broussard Chamber of Commerce was delighted to welcome U.S. Senator John Kennedy to the City of Broussard for an informative congressional update,” said Stacy Romero, President & CEO of the Broussard Chamber of Commerce. “The luncheon was well-attended by hundreds of area business leaders, elected officials, and community champions, all of whom listened to Senator Kennedy discuss policies that make enterprise work. To assist in the growth and development of business in our area, the Broussard Chamber often convenes community groups to ensure that stakeholders in our area remain informed to the matters that impact businesses and our local economy. Collaboration among local leaders is critical to the continued growth of our community, and hosting events like this one allows for such collaboration to occur.”

“We were thrilled to have Senator Kennedy in Lafayette Parish,” said Andre Breaux, VP of Policy Initiatives and Governmental Affairs at One Acadiana. “As the voice of the regional business community, One Acadiana is immensely grateful that our elected leaders keep open lines of communication, enabling business leaders to engage and provide input on important policy discussions affecting our state and nation.”

Elected in 2016, Senator Kennedy serves on the Appropriations, Banking, Budget, Judiciary, and Small Business Committees in the U.S. Senate.
