LAKE ARTHUR, La. – Today, Jeff Davis Parish Economic Development with One Acadiana (1A), and Entergy announced that a 18.37-acre site located in Jeff Davis Parish has been certified under the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) Certified Sites program.

The LA-26 Benoit Site is Acadiana’s twenty fifth certified site and is the third certified site in Jeff Davis Parish.

Working with partners across the region, One Acadiana’s site development efforts respond to the needs of site selectors and relocating businesses. Establishing a landing pad for businesses is crucial to attracting jobs and investment to the Acadiana Region.

“This achievement not only expands our portfolio of marketable sites but also emphasizes the power of unity within our community,” said Creed Romano, President & CEO of Jeff Davis Parish Economic Development. “Working closely with One Acadiana, we recognize the crucial role certified sites play in attracting businesses, creating jobs, and driving investment. This certification is more than recognition; it’s a symbol of our collective strength and determination to enhance Jeff Davis Parish’s appeal for businesses looking to establish roots. We are proud to be part of this collaborative effort and anticipate continued success as our region works seamlessly as one.”

Jeff Davis Parish Economic Development, Entergy and One Acadiana worked together closely to secure the certification of the Benoit LA-26 Site. One Acadiana’s Site Development program is designed to increase the region’s portfolio of marketable, development-ready sites by certifying land within the nine-parish region. This is achieved through partnership between One Acadiana, local economic development partners, Louisiana Economic Development (LED), and landowners.

“The site certification program ensures that businesses looking to start, relocate, or expand in our region have a place to land, which is key to improving Acadiana’s economic competitiveness, said Troy Wayman, President & CEO of One Acadiana. “We are proud to celebrate the certification of this site with our partners in Jeff Davis and we’re excited to help them take the next step into marketing the site, which is now primed for development.”

“Entergy continues to play a pivotal role in powering innovation and growth throughout Louisiana,” said Jim Bourgeois, Entergy Louisiana business and economic development manager. “We’re proud to partner in the certification of the Benoit LA-26 site, underscoring the importance of collaboration as a catalyst for economic prosperity in Jeff Davis Parish and throughout the state.”
