Member Spotlight: Veteran Exteriors

1. Give us a brief history of your organization.

Tyler Schexnayder started Veteran Exteriors as a side gig while doing full time law enforcement, while having no startup money, using a pressure washer he received for Christmas, and getting to jobs using his wife’s minivan. After 9 months, he quit law enforcement and began working the business full time. Over the last four and a half years Tyler and his team have grown from those humble beginnings to a team of 8-12 (depending on the season), 3 service trucks with the best equipment in the industry, and have our sights set on much bigger and better things!.

2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?

It’s cliché to say that our people make us special, but it is so true. Our company would not be what we are without the amazing people we have. Our team is committed to excellence in all that we do. We strive to make the service experience PHENOMENAL for our customers through good communication, professionalism, satisfaction guarantees, and sticking to our word.

3. What are you most proud of?

In terms of business, I can proudly say that we have more 5-star reviews on Google and Facebook than any other exterior cleaning company in SWLA and Acadiana. We were also voted People’s Choice of SWLA Best Exterior Cleaning Company 2023. And finally, we were awarded the Softwash Systems Rookie of the Year 2020 and Best Exemplified Company 2022 out of over 200 companies nationwide.

4. Where do you see your organization in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?

In 10 years, we will be THE most respected and recognized name in the exterior cleaning industry in all of Louisiana and the surrounding region. We will have 5-7 locations across the state and provide excellent employment opportunities for numerous people, helping them to provide a high quality of life for their families.

5. 1A is making an impact as we take an active role in improving the community we live in. Our members are making an impact, too! – What does impact mean to you? How is your company making an impact?

Impact is leaving things better than you found it and changing things for the better. I believe our company impacts our community internally and externally. Internally, we provide a good, Christian environment for our team members to work. We strive to help them grow and improve as team members but more importantly as parents, spouses, and leaders. Externally, we are impacting the exterior cleaning industry in Louisiana. Our company is spearheading the way for our industry to improve and reach a level of excellence and professionalism not seen before in Louisiana. We do this by setting the example, answering questions from other business owners that reach out for advice, and educating consumers on how to select an exterior cleaning company and helping them learn to expect better from our industry.
