Flood impact weighs on local businesses

A preliminary study by One Acadiana suggested in the nine parishes it represents at least 152 and perhaps 244 businesses flooded. Most likely, the number will range from 200 to 300.

Jason El Koubi, One Acadiana president and CEO, said there are three ways to measure the flood’s impact on business: physical damage to business properties, lost economic activity because of the flood’s impact on businesses and its employees during the flood and immediately after, and the loss of revenue to businesses over the next six to 12 months.
