Member Spotlight: Burger King on North University Ave

1. Give us a brief history of your company.

Our restaurant was purchased by GPS Hospitality in December 2016. GPS Hospitality is based in Atlanta and own/operates more than 380 restaurants in 11 states. Our values are part of our company name - Goal Focused, People Oriented and Service Obsessed. GPS was proud to be recognized by Burger King as its 2018 Global Franchisee of the Year.

2. What would you tell the rest of Acadiana makes you special?

We take pride in being Service Obsessed. We hire friendly people who enjoy serving our guests with a smile. If we make a mistake, our mantra is “At GPS We Say Yes.” We empower all our team members to make sure that every guest has a great experience every time they visit.

3. What are you most proud of?

We are proud to demonstrate our commitment to the Acadiana community by investing in remodeling our restaurant to provide a bright and spacious dining room and completely renovated exterior for our guests, as well as a fresh workplace for our employees. We’re excited to welcome everyone to our “new” restaurant!

4. Where do you see your business in 10 years? What are your plans for the future?

GPS Hospitality is on a Journey to 1 Billion. The company was found in 2012 with the purchase of 42 restaurants in the Atlanta area. Since then, we have grown through multiple acquisitions, as well as building new restaurants. We plan to achieve $1 Billion in sales within our first ten years. This growth continues to provide new leadership opportunities for our team, allowing them to continue to grow with us. Our Vision is to be our Guests’ Favorite Fast Food Destination.

5. 1A is “Focused on Forward” – meaning we are taking an active role of improving the community we live in. Our members are Focused on Forward, too! What does Focused on Forward mean to you? How is your company Focused on Forward?

Our first priority at GPS is Goals. We believe in setting professional and personal goals, helping our team achieve them and celebrating when they’re accomplished. We want to help our team continue to learn and grow and build a solid foundation of skills to help them be successful in the future.
