LAFAYETTE, LA – Downtown Lafayette is thrilled to announce the grand opening of Oliver Lane Creative Studio and will celebrate with a ribbon cutting ceremony in collaboration with One Acadiana on Friday, June 7th at 11:30 AM.
Oliver Lane Creative Studio offers a variety of activities including paint-your-own pottery, canvases, and 3D door hangers on a walk-in basis. Additionally, they host private parties, birthday celebrations, and team-building events. The new studio aims to employ four to eight people over the next year, contributing to the local economy and fostering a creative community.
“When I opened my shop in my spare bedroom in 2020, I told my friends and family that my ultimate goal was to have a studio in Downtown Lafayette due to their art and history scene,” says Shayna Bolgiano, owner of Oliver Lane. “I spent a lot of time downtown as a child with my parents and grandparents, listening to live music and admiring all the murals. I am most excited about meeting new people and spreading the love for art in the heart of Lafayette.”
Shayna spent the majority of her adult life as a police officer, working for both the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and as a Patrol Officer with the Lafayette Police Department eventually leaving the force to be a full-time mom. “Upon having Oliver, my husband and I decided I would be a stay-at-home mom, which lasted about two months before I started dabbling in laser work. This soon turned our small spare bedroom hobby into a full-blown business of my dreams,” Bolgiano shared.
Oliver Lane Creative Studio is dedicated to providing a creative and inclusive space for the community to explore and enjoy art.
“Oliver Lane Creative Studio is the perfect addition to our Downtown retail landscape,” said Jessica Hauerwas, Executive Director of Downtown Lafayette. “They offer a unique experience that appeals to children, families, or even couples in a safe, vibrant urban core.”
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Friday, June 7th at 11:30 p.m. with the Oliver Lane team.
