One Acadiana and regional business resource partners – including LEDA, Opportunity Machine, Downtown Development Authority, Louisiana Small Business Center at UL Lafayette, Acadiana Workforce Solutions, Acadiana Planning Commission, United Way of Acadiana, and other local chambers and economic development offices — are continuing a series of webinars to help businesses navigate the COVID-19 crisis.

LAFAYETTE, La. — The Picard Group will present a webinar on Friday on the recently negotiated federal stimulus package and other policy measures in response to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency.
Downtown Lafayette Unlimited announced on Thursday that it will partner with One Acadiana, LEDA, United Way of Acadiana, and other local, regional, and state organizations to host the webinar on the COVID-19 federal response and what it means for small businesses.

Several of the area's economic development organizations — such as Downtown Lafayette Unlimited, One Acadiana, and the Lafayette Economic Development Authority — are hosting a webinar Friday to update people on the recently passed federal stimulus package and other COVID-19 measures.
The webinar will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will feature The Picard Group's Director of Federal Affairs Emily Bacque and Deputy Director of Federal Affairs Hunter Hall.

The Lafayette Economic Development Authority, along with other economic development groups, have created resources to help businesses and now-unemployed workers who have been hit by COVID-19 and the measures taken to prevent the spread.
One resource is a survey of businesses to see how they have been impacted either by the virus or the mitigation efforts (such as closing restaurant dine-in service, or closing nail salons, movie theaters, and bowling alleys, among others).

Balancing Act: The Financial Challenges of Child Care Facing Louisiana’s Working Families details how child care assistance, or lack thereof, impacts Louisiana’s working parents.

When Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his order to limit all restaurants in the state to take-out and delivery, David Puckett — the owner of Breaux Bridge's Cafe Sydnie Mae — was stunned.
As the owner of a restaurant, which usually have slim profit margins to begin with, Puckett said the governor's order had "shock value." If the restaurant had to limit itself to carryout and delivery, a lot of servers would be out of jobs.
